Teeth diseases are very common these days and to prevent them, certain care needs to be taken on a daily basis. Here are some tips that can help you keep healthy teeth.

Humans have only two sets of teeth in their lifetime. The first set is the baby teeth and the next set is the permanent teeth. If we don't take care of our permanent teeth, we permanently damage them.

Here are some tips to for diseases free gums and teeth:

Regularly Brush

To begin with, we need to brush our teeth for two minutes at least twice a day - once in the morning and once at night. If you can brush after every meal, it would be an added advantage. Also, brushing properly is important. A lot of people do not use soft toothbrush; rough toothbrushes can cause tooth sensitivity and receding gums in the later years.

Flossing

A lot of people tend to ignore the benefits of flossing and consider it to be an extra activity, which does not need to be a part of their daily dental routine. But this isn’t true. Flossing helps remove food from in between your teeth.

Eat Carefully

Food items such as chips, biscuits etc., tend to stick to your teeth and sodas lead to tooth decay. You need to think twice before you consume these food items. Also, sugary items should never be eaten before you sleep.

Appointment with dentist

If you visit the dentist at least twice a year, then you can monitor the growth of tooth decay, cavities, or bleeding gums from the very beginning. The dentist will be able to point out the symptoms before the problem gets aggravated. The dentist can also point out whether you are brushing and flossing correctly and can help you maintain your teeth and gums.
